Insurance Billing

  • Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Payments Posting.  Payments posted, calculate write offs, coinsurance, deductibles and patient payments
  • Claims quality check. Each EOB is reviewed very carefully to ensure each claim was processed properly.
  • Patient Billing. Write offs, coinsurance and deductibles are calculated and allocated appropriately, and patients billed immediately upon EOB posting and claims quality check.
  • AR team followup. Once EOBs and payments are posted, your claims are immediately turned over to our AR team for follow up.

Claims, Follow up, and Appeals

  • Maximum reimbursement followup.  Claims are followed up systematically and quickly. Claim follow up is handled utilizing our electronic clearing house, insurance websites and direct contact via telephone. We diligently pursue your claims for maximum reimbursement and appeal your denials.
  • Agressive unpaid claim process. All unpaid claims are aggressively pursued by the AR team daily. We will keep calling and asking for explanations and ways to fix issues, until every cent due is paid. We are experts at getting through to the insurance companies to dispute improper denials and slow payments.
  • Claim appeals. Denials and rejections are always handled by an appeal. Once the denial is evaluated, we utilize our appeal process to handle incorrect claim denials. Claims are never written off without being appealed first.

 

Patient Billing

Patient Billing and Collections

  • Hassle free patient billing. We alleviate you and your staff of the hassles of patient billing, questions and phone calls. Patients will call ZH Healthcare directly with all of their billing questions and concerns. We handle all aspects of patient accounts - statements, payment posting and collections.
  • Patient Statements: Patient statements are generated every month. Reminder statements are automatically sent out after 30 days and our direct phone number is provided on all statements to eliminate patient contact with your office. A Collection Letter is sent after two unpaid statements.
  • Patient Communication: We provide your patients with the best possible customer service to answer their questions, interpret their EOBs, and work with their insurance companies to get their claims resolved.
  • Patient Collections: Our distinct three step process handles delinquent patient accounts. We will send out two patient statements, a collection letter and follow up with phone calls. If the patient balance remains outstanding after these efforts, we recommend that the account be turned over to a collection agency upon your approval.

 

Practice Support

  • Verification of Eligibility and Benefits: We provide services to verify patient eligibility with the insurances, through our software and insurance calling. We collect the health benefits pertaining to the individual/ group plan of the patient and the details of the coverage, including co-payments, deductibles, co-insurance, from the insurance provider.
  • Pre-Authorization services: We offer pre-authorization services and contact the insurance provider to obtain prior approval required before performing a clinical procedure on patients. We can advise on the number of visits/procedures authorized, and remind you when time for a new authorization is due. This relieves you from the time consuming process and responsibility that can be utilized for other duties.
  • Credentialing: ZH Healthcare provides your practice free credentialing service with insurance carriers. Benefit from our expertise in the credentialing process with multiple carriers and we will partner with you to obtain the required documentation and submission of applications as well as perform active followups.
  • Electronic Funds Transfer / Electronic Remittance Advice: Maximize your cash flow with lower administrative costs through efficient and secure transactions. Replace your paper checks with the convenience of Electronics Fund Transfer (EFT). Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), the equivalent of Standard Paper Remittance provides your practice with information on how claims were processed or denied. With ERA, your practice obtains automating posting of EoBs to our EMR and early notification of claim finalization compared to SPRs that are mailed.
